Hyderabad: Man arrested for Keralite's murder, says Arun was having an affair with his niece

The Hyderabad police have arrested the main accused in the murder of Kerala native Arun P George, who was found dead in his apartment on Saturday.

The accused has been identified as an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) who works with the railway police, according to local reports. The police, who traced him down using CCTV visuals, said the accused has admitted to killing Arun as he was close having an affair with his niece.

Arun, 37, was working as a printing press operator in Himayatnagar. The woman was also working at the same office, and the two were close. The woman's husband is working in Dubai while Arun's wife had returned to Kerala six months ago. 

Keralite found murdered in Hyderabad with throat slit

Arun was found murdered in the washroom of his rented house in Ramnagar area of Hyderabad on Saturday. There were blood marks on the walls of the bedroom as well.

The accused said he had warned Arun to end the relationship with his niece several times. The police said he went to Arun's house on Saturday and had a heated argument with him, following which he slit Arun's throat and let him bleed to death.

The incident came to light after Arun's family contacted his friends when he failed to reach his home in Thodupuzha for the weekend. His friends opened the house with the help of the landlord and found the body.
