Fazal murder: RSS man says Kerala police brutally beat him to confess

Synopsis

Subeesh said he was forced to give the confession The RSS worker said he got evidence to prove his claim CBI submitted before the court that his confession statement was fabricated

The RSS activist who allegedly confessed to the Crime Branch that NDF worker Fazal was murdered by four Sangh workers including him has denied that he committed the crime. Subeesh, the RSS worker said that police forced him to give the statement.

The statement comes a day after Karayi Rajan, the CPM leader who was accused in the case, submitted a video of Subeesh confessing the crime, before the court. However,

Subeesh arranged for a press meet and told media persons that he gave the statement under fear of life. "The police threatened and assaulted me. They used third-degree torture and even intimidated my wife and other family members. There were several takes to make the confession look natural, and I merely said what I was told to say," he said.

Subeesh also stated that he got evidence to prove his claim and had informed about the incident to the magistrate. The RSS activist also said that he has never heard of Fazal and never met him.

The CBI too had submitted before the court that the statement was fabricated and could not be taken into consideration. The agency said there were contradictions in the statement and facts disclosed during the investigation. As per Subeesh's statement, the murder took place at 1.30 am while investigation revealed that the incident occurred around 3.30 am. It was also found in the post mortem that the injuries suffered by Fazal were not caused by the weapons claimed by Subeesh.
