Renowned playback singer and Dileep’s friend Rimi Tomy has recorded a confidential statement in court, in connection with the Kochi actress attack case.

Rimi gave her statement at the Kothamangalam additional first class magistrate court on Thursday afternoon. It was Rimi who requested that the arrangement to record her statement be made at the Kothamangalam court, which has female magistrates.

The special investigation team (SIT), probing the actress attack, had earlier questioned Rimi in connection with the case. The singer is very close to Dileep and his wife Kavya Madhavan, and has attended various programmes and stage shows along with them.

Earlier today, it had emerged that one of the accused also gave a confessional statement against Dileep, claiming the actor was involved in the incident.

Charlie, the seventh accused in the case, stated before a magistrate that Dileep gave the 'quotation' to assault the actress and record the visuals. Prime accused Pulsar Suni had stayed at Charlie's house in Coimbatore after he had went into hiding, following the abduction and attack on the actress on February 17, reportsAsianet News.

Charlie said that two days after the attack, Suni told him Dileep gave him the quotation for Rs 1.5 crore. He also confessed that Suni showed him video clips of the assault on his phone, according to reports. He is expected to turn an approver after his confession.
