Garbage including used blood bags, gloves and other medical waste thrown in public place is posing a threat to the life of people in Angamaly. The residents of surrounding area on Wednesday turned up to protest against Little Flower Hospital and authorities removed the waste in an hour.

The protestors took some waste along with them and dropped it at hospital gate seeking an explanation from management. However, hospital authorities were not ready to accept that the waste was theirs.

A video is going round on Facebook in which protestors can be seen seeking an explanation from hospital authorities to which they reply that they are not aware of such an issue.

Angry protestors pics up blood bags and other waste and can be heard asking whether it is not used in the hospital. They also state that diseases are spreading in nearby areas. "A person died last year owing to the fever that spread in the area due to the unscientific disposal of waste. As many as 150 persons had the fever last year. You are dumping waste on the road on the backside of your hospital compound," a protestor says.

As more people began to join the protest, hospital management clarifies that they were not aware of the issue and asked the protestors to remove the waste.
