BJP president Amit Shah on Tuesday offered prayers at the famous Rajarajeswara Temple in Taliparamba near Kannur.
The senior BJP leader arrived at the Mangalore airport on Tuesday morning and reached the temple by road from Bakel. He was accompanied by several state BJP leaders.
Shah was received by the temple authorities. The BJP president, who spent 30 minutes at the temple, offered a golden pot to the deity. The Rajarajeswara Temple is a famous Shiva temple in North Malabar.

— Amit Shah (@AmitShah)After offering prayers, Shah proceeded to Payyanur to inaugurate BJP's 15-day "jana raksha yatra" against the "red terrorism" unleashed by CPM against BJP and RSS workers. The march is expected to travel through the state before culminating in Thiruvananthapuram on October 17.
As part of the padayatra, Shah walked past the home of Chief Minister Vijayan, as a mark of protest against the ruling CPM's "political violence" and also against growing jihadi terrorism.
The veteran BJP leader said the march is a non-violent protest against the political killings. "We started the march from Kannur because it is the Chief Minister's home district."
Shah said as many as 120 BJP and RSS workers have been murdered in Kerala since 2001 and asked the CPM-led government to let the people know who was responsible for such killings.
