Kozhikode: Suraj, a resident of West Hill in Kozhikode, is going through a heartbreaking situation. Both his kidneys have failed. He and his wife Ramya could not manage the huge medical bills. Because of this, they had to leave their rented house. They spent days living at the KSRTC bus stand and Kozhikode beach. Some kind-hearted people recently moved them to a lodge in Eranhipalam. But this poor family still cannot find money for his dialysis, which he needs three times a week.

Kidney disease turned their lives upside down two years ago. Suraj and Ramya gave everything they had to fight it. Both of them used to work as sales staff in private companies. When the treatment costs became too much, they had to vacate their rented home in West Hill. They stepped out with only his medicines in hand. For days, they survived by sleeping in the KSRTC bus stand waiting room and on beach benches.
