Prime Minister Narendra Modi lashed out against Congress for allegedly questioning the integrity of the Indian army and insulting the National Song.

"We cannot expect patriotism from the people who call soldiers who guard the country's borders as 'Goondas', asking witnesses for surgical strikes and insult 'Vande Mataram'.  Congress has insulted the brave son of Karnataka Field Marshal Cariappa. This should not be forgotten by the youth," said PM Modi.

While speaking at the BJP rally on Thursday at Kalaburgi, he further said, "There is no patriotism or nationalism in Congress culture. The country which has the motto of 'Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan'. Congress has ignored both of them."
