Here's why Minister DK Shivakumar had to sneak into his house!

Synopsis

Karnataka's Energy Minister DK Shivakumar has been facing IT raids since the morning of August 2  After questioning the minister at the Eagleton Resort in Bidadi, IT sleuths have brought the minister to his Sadashivanagar residence The police had to struggle to control the surging crowds gathered at his residence, making entry very hard.

Energy Minister DK Shivakumar, who was brought to his Sadashivanagar residence in tight security by IT sleuths, had to sneak through the back gate to gain entry into his own house, thanks to his massive fan base.

As news broke out that the minister was being brought to his residence, a huge crowd had gathered at his house, 'Kenkeri'. They raised slogans condemning the IT raids against him. As media persons and the crowd jostled with each other to see the minister, Shivakumar had to spend first few minutes inside his car as the police were struggling to control the crowd.

Despite deploying over 50 police personnel in the area, the police were sweating it out to ease the situation. The police, however, later decided, to allow the minister's car to enter his house from the back gate. The minister did stop for a minute to acknowledge his supporters - who were waiting to catch a glimpse. He asked them to stay calm. The supporters could be heard cheering for the minister.

The IT sleuths will now grill the minister at his house. So far, the IT raids have reportedly yielded Rs 11 crore since morning.
