A software engineer who was on his way to visit his friend's home was stabbed to death near The Chocolate Factory in Tavarekere. The deceased has been identified as Pranoy Mishra (26), a native of Odisha. He was employed with Accenture.
It is reported Mishra had partied with his friends till late night on Sunday. Since Mishra was allegedly drunk, his friends dropped him to his room at Sudduguntepalya in a cab.
Later, Mishra reportedly called up his friend and said he was visiting her in BTM Layout at around 3 am. Mishra took his bike to visit his friend. However, miscreants attacked him near the Chocolate Factory in Tavarekere and stabbed him in the stomach. Some passersby who saw Mishra profusely bleeding on the road immediately shifted him to hospital. However, he breathed his last, reports Kannada Prabha.
Meanwhile, his friend called up his mobile to check where he was. Men who brought Mishra to the hospital told her that he had met with an accident. The police have informed Mishra's sister who also stays in the city.
Since Mishra's mobile phone and his wallet were intact with him, the police are ruling out robber's hand in his murder. There were no CCTV cameras at the spot where Mishra was found dead. However, the Madiwala police have formed three teams to investigate into the case. They are screening his mobile phone and are interrogating his friends, reports Kannada Prabha quoting DCP Dr Boralingaiah.
