Karnataka: Woman PSI assaulted by four men in Bengaluru at night

A woman Sub Inspector attached to the Jeevanbhima Nagar Police Station in Bengaluru was assaulted by four men The woman cop was on duty and was taking a patrol of the area when the men were threatening people When she tried to arrest them, they abused her and then assaulted her

A woman Sub Inspector attached to the Jeevanbhima Nagar Police Station was assaulted by four men at 2.30 AM on January 20.

PSI Ashwini of Jeevanbhima Nagar is the victim. It is said that four miscreants were creating a ruckus by brandishing dagger and threatening people in the area. The woman cop was on duty and was taking a patrol of the area when the men were threatening people. She jumped into action and tried to arrest them. But the accused abused her and then assaulted her. But with the help of the public, all four are behind bars.

They have been booked under sections 354(A) 504, 34, 509, 354(B) 506, 353, 332, 354 of the IPC. The accused are identified as Vijayanand, 26, Jeethu, 26, Sachin, 27, and Anil Jose.

Ashwini is an IPS officer of 2016 batch. She was appointed in Bengaluru, just after completing her probationary training.
