  • Residents lock up school but the BEO claims that "residents could have misunderstood the teachers' intention"

Watching a Telugu movie shooting seemed to have appeared more "interesting" than taking classes for students to some of the teachers of a government school in Chadachan in Vijayapura district. So much so that they skipped the classes and spent their day watching a movie shooting.

The school has only six teachers and except for one, all of them had gone to watch the shooting. As the news spread, the residents of Chadachan town  locked up the school demanding the transfer of those five teachers from their town, reports Kannada Prabha.

However, the block education officer H Thippanna has come to the support of these teachers putting the blame on the students. "I have been told that since all the students had gone to watch the movie shooting, teachers too - with no option - had gone to the shooting spot. Residents seem to have misunderstood their intention," Thippanna said.
