Post the fear of defeat; Congress is trying its luck to form the government with an alliance with JD(S). Sources also said that HD Kumaraswamy of JD(S) also has been offered the post of CM.
It is said that former AICC chief Sonia Gandhi herself is holding talks with JD(S) Supremo and former PM HD Deve Gowda to form an alliance.
With JD(S) securing more seats than expectation and Congress faring much worse than expected, the alliance is the only way Congress can come back to power.
Meanwhile, BJP is in talks with winning independent candidates to make its winning seats comfortably above the simple majority of 113.
JD(S) response on this is awaited.
