Fake social network pages in the names of celebrities have become a common nuisance in recent times. After Shruthi Hariharan was trolled with morphed nude photos, Swathi, a Kannada small screen actor, is the latest victim.
Swathi, an actor in the teleserial Mane Devru, has lodged a complaint with the Cyber Crime police that a miscreant has opened a fake Facebook page in her name, posted obscene photos and also given her and father’s phone numbers. Following this Swathi has received obscene phone calls.
Swathi clarified that she has only one FB account in her name. Somebody has opened several fake accounts in the names of Shruthi Sait, Swathi Sanvi, Swathi Nagaraj, Ajay Kumar and Chaitra Gowda and has sent obscene messages and photos from these accounts to her friends. Swathi had lodged a complaint with the Facebook administration, following which those fake accounts were deleted. But the man has opened another account in the name of Kavitha Nagaraj and yet again posted morphed obscene photos. Swanthi has lodged a complaint with Cyber Crime police alleging harassment and mental torture.
However, the Cyber Crime Police have not taken any action in this regard, alleges Swanthi. She said her entire family is under mental torture due to this and she even fears life threat.
