Bengaluru: Road caves in on Lalbagh main road

Synopsis

Lalbagh Main Road in front of Urvashi Theatre caved in suddenly creating a crater of some 5 feet. Police immediately placed barricades around the crater and diverted traffic. It can be recalled that near Sajjan Rao Circle in Basavanagudi also road had caved in due to heavy rains.

Lalbagh Main Road in front of Urvashi Theatre caved in suddenly creating a crater of some 5 feet. Commuters were in for a shock by the sudden collapse. Police immediately placed barricades around the crater, reported Kannada Prabha.

Police said the reason for road caving in is that the BWSSB pipe line broke.  As there was heavy traffic on the road, police averted accidents by barricading around the crater and diverting traffic. It can be recalled that near Sajjan Rao Circle in Basavanagudi also road had caved in due to heavy rains.
