Now, Ramachandrapura Mutt faces CA site encroachment charges

Synopsis

A PIL was filed against the Ramachandrapura mutt accusing it of encroaching BBMP site reserved for park HC directed the DC to inspect a civic amenity site Hearing adjourned by 8 weeks

The High Court, on Thursday, directed the Bengaluru Urban DC to inspect the civic amenity site at Girinagar, with public witness and file a report if encroachment by Ramachandrapura mutt has occurred, as alleged in a PIL filed by one Pravan Prasad. Pavan Prasad had filed a PIL alleging encroachment of 2600 sq ft of Girinagar Park site by the mutt, appealing the Bench to instruct BBMP and the Urban Development Department to clear the same.
The division bench comprising Chief Justice SK Mukherjee and Justice PS Dinesh Kumar directed the DC to submit the report and adjourned the next hearing by eight weeks.
