Rahul Gandhi cancels his November 19 visit to Karnataka

Synopsis

AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi has cancelled his visit to State on Nov 19 scheduled to attend the Indira Gandhi birth centenary.  Sources at AICC say that it is because Rahul Gandhi may take over as the president on AICC on the same day, Rahul Gandhi was scheduled to participate in the Indira Gandhi centenary celebrations at Chikkamagalur on Nov 19.

AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi has cancelled his visit to State on Nov 19 scheduled to attend the Indira Gandhi birth centenary.  Sources at AICC say that it is because Rahul Gandhi may take over as the president on AICC on the same day, reported Kannada Prabha.

Rahul Gandhi was scheduled to participate in the Indira Gandhi centenary celebrations at Chikkamagalur on Nov 19.  On Nov 20 a road show was organised at Kadur and Birur and a party workers’ convention at Shivamogga. 

A fishermen’s convention was also planned on Nov 21. KPCC president Dr G Parameshwar had organised several preparatory meetings in this context. However, Rahul Gandhi may take charge as the Party president on Nov and hence the tour is cancelled sources said.
