Popular Kannada filmmaker MS Rajashekhar dies in Bengaluru
Synopsis
Kannada filmmaker Rajashekhar was suffering from lung infection and was admitted to Vikram Hospital in Bengaluru.
MS Rajashekhar, actor-filmmaker, who launched many debutants including evergreen actor Rajkumar's son Raghavendra Rajkumar, died at Vikram Hospital in Bengaluru.
MS Rajashekhar, who acted with Rajkumar in his debut film Dhruva Thare, also directed Raj's son Shivarajkumar in many successful movies. He even launched Raghavendra Rajkumar and Malashree in Kannada film industry with blockbuster movies such as Nanjundi Kalyana.
Rajashekhar was suffering from lung infection and was admitted to Vikram Hospital in Bengaluru.
He has directed about 30 films including Ratha Sapthami and Manamecchida Hudugi starring Shivarajkumar. Both the films along with Anand directed by Singeetham Srinivasa Rao made Shivarajkumar warm the title of Hattrick Hero.
Other popular films by Rajashekhar include Ade Raaga Ade Haadu, Aasegobba Meesegobba, Gajapathi Garvabhanga, Hrudaya Haadithu, Mannina Doni, Mana Midiyithu, Hrudaya Hrudaya, etc.
His last film was Ravi Shastry (remake of Tamil film Adhu Namma Alu), which was released in 2006, starring Ravichandran. The film did not do well at the box office. Thus, he took retirement from direction.
He has left behind son Subbanna, who is a make-up artist in the industry.
