Two airlines, seven destinations added to Bengaluru International Airport's winter schedule: BIAL

Synopsis

The new domestic destinations are Kanpur, Gorakhpur, and Udaipur (Spice Jet); Udaipur and Prayagraj (former Allahabad) (Indigo); Aizawl via Guwahati (Jet Airways NSE -5.26 %) and Kolhapur (Alliance Air). 

Bengaluru: Banglore International Airport Limited (BIAL) has announced the launch and addition of seven routes and two new airlines, Turkish Cargo and Air India Express, respectively for the Winter Schedule of 2018. The schedule is for a span of five months and will be active till March 30, 2019. 

Bengaluru will now be connecting 82 destinations i.e. 53 domestic and 29 international locations, including the new international destination Phuket. GO Air will be providing a direct link to southern Thai province as well. 

Indigo, Air India and Go Air will be launching additional flights from Bengaluru to eight existing international destinations. Indigo will provide daily flights to Male, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, and Kathmandu, Air India will service to Bangkok and London and Go Air will fly to Male. Air India Express from October 29 will launch a round – trip flight which will fly to Singapore four times a week. 

The new domestic destinations are Kanpur, Gorakhpur, and Udaipur (Spice Jet); Udaipur and Prayagraj (former Allahabad) (Indigo); Aizawl via Guwahati (Jet AirwaysNSE -5.26 %) and Kolhapur (Alliance Air). 

Turkish Cargo is one among the fastest growing air freight services and will function two flights a week, servicing from October 31, between Istanbul and Bengaluru – one en route Colombo and other Daman. A total sum of 13 Cargo Airlines, constituting 2 domestic and 11 international cargo's are operated from BLR Airport. 

Javed Malik, BIAL’s Chief Operating Officer said "Resurgent growth translates into the need for new routes and the addition of aircraft to the existing base. We will continue to work with our airline partners to offer passengers attractive routes that connect Bengaluru to some of the most exotic destinations in India and abroad,” at the press release.

He added that the service provided boost the economy of the city and embellish the reputation of Bangalore Airport as the gateway to a New India.
