The State Government has given a shocker to young police cadets. Anyone wishing to change department after writing the examination should pay a fine of Rs 2 lakhs. Until now if a constable wished to change to some other department after 5 years of service he had to pay a fine of Rs 50,000. Now the State Government has increased it to Rs 2 lakhs, reported Kannada Prabha.
Young police cadets are trained by the department that involves man power and time. After the training if the candidate rejects police department and goes to some other department, it is a total waste of resources. A committee headed by Raghavendra Auradkar had looked into this problem and submitted a report recommending the changes. Of late, talented post graduates are joining as constables and later writing examinations are opting different departments, it is a trend cause for anxiety the committee had said.
In this context the State Government has taken this decision to collect Rs 2 lakh fine.
