“I cannot solute all and sundry and hence I am not cut out to be in politics. I don’t have any interest to come to politics,” said Sandalwood actor Darshan, reports Kannada Prabha.

Rumours of Darshan entering politics and Congress leaders meeting him were making rounds for some time now. But Darshan had never spoken about it. For the first time, he spoke to Kannada Prabha on the sets of 'Muniratna Kurukshetra' at Hyderabad.

“All news about me entering politics is all false. I do not know anything other than films. I am an actor. I don’t know politics. If in case I enter politics I will make an announcement and go. There is no need for me to be secretive about it. Also I think politics cannot be secretive. Hence, any news of me joining politics is far from truth,” he said.

“Usually politicians have to salute a lot of people. Anyone wearing Khadi has to salute at every step. That is totally unlike me. I am not brought up in that way to salute all and sundry. Also people who vote also swear at you in worst possible way. Why do I need to go through all that? I know it is all common in politics. But I cannot live in such an atmosphere. Let me just keep acting,” he said.
