Following the reports of Congress MLA Byrati Basavaraj's close aide Narayanaswamy trying to set the BBMP office on fire at Horamavu, the party has suspended him.

Dr G Parameshwara, KPCC President has directed the Bengaluru North District Congress Committee to suspend Narayanaswamy from the party.

Narayanaswamy was in the office to ask for a khata approval. But the officer Chengal rayappa refused to do so as the documents were not intact. In the video released, it can be seen that Narayanaswamy threatening the officer by using his power and saying, "Do you know who I am? I am very close to Byrati Basavaraj, MLA of KR Puram constituency. I will burn down the office if you refuse to do my work."

However, it looked like the leader just carried the petrol and did not have anything to burn the place down and was seen asking for matchstick with his associates.

In another interesting development, as the video of Narayanaswany throwing petrol telecasted on the news channels, there was a power cut in the entire KR Puram area. It is alleged that the power cut was planned so that the news doesn't reach people.

Reacting on the issue, BJP leader Suresh Kumar said that it was a government sponsored hooliganism. He accused the ruling party of inaction.

This incident has occurred just two days after Congress MLA Haris's son Nalapad's rowdism, another close aide of Congress MLA Byrati Basavaraj was seen sprinkling petrol inside the BBMP office in Horeamavu and threatening the officer to set the office on fire. It can also be remembered that action was taken on Nalapad, who handed over to the police custody till February 21.
