My supporters are not in my control: Karnataka MLA Ramalinga Reddy

Seven-time MLA Ramalinga Reddy, who arrived at Siddaramaiah's official residence in Bengaluru on Tuesday said, his supporters, who are protesting, are not under his control. Soon after meeting Siddarammaiah, Reddy clarified that he would not leave the party and asked his corporators not to protest.  

After simmering protest by supporters for failing to make seven-time MLA Ramalinga Reddy a minister, the Karnataka Congress leader reached former chief minister Siddaramaiah's residence in Bengaluru and apprised him that his supporters, who are on protest, are not under his control. He told newspersons that Siddaramaiah explained that due to coalition compulsion, Reddy and few seniors could not be accommodated. 

Reddy further added that he would not leave the party and would work for Congress candidate in Bengaluru south. "My aim is to ensure that in 2019 August, PM from Congress should hoist the National Flag on the day of Independence," he said.

On resignation threat from corporators from his Assembly segment and BJP leaders getting in touch with him, Reddy said, "Supporters have become emotional and I have asked my corporators not to resign as it will send the wrong signal. With regard to a BJP leader getting in touch, it was not to persuade me to quit and join the BJP. This meeting was for an invitation to attend the marriage of Yelahanka MLA Vishwanath's son marriage in the coming days."
