Dr Yatindra is Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s younger son CM had announced that Dr Yatindra will be his political heir He has no official responsibilities, yet holds meeting of government officers

On Friday, Dr Yatindra summoned the officials to his TK Layout residence and held a meeting. But this has not gone down well with the officials and political observers. "Dr Yatindra does not have a constitutional authority to convene a meeting of the government officials. He may be the son of chief minister but that does not give him any special rights to interfere in government affairs," said government officials, reports Kannada Prabha.

It may be recalled here that Siddaramaiah had announced Dr Yatindra as his next political heir after the demise of his elder son Rakesh Siddaramaiah. “I will be busy with the state politics and it is difficult for me to spend time in my constituency. In my absence, Dr Yatindra will take care,” Siddaramaiah had said.

In fact, this is not the first time that Dr Yatindra is conducting the government officials’ meeting. On earlier occasion too, he had held a meeting of Command Area Development Authority (CADA) officials along with chief minister's secretary Ramaiah.

Yatindra’s elder brother Rakesh Siddaramaiah too was in constant touch with the government officials, especially of Mysuru region. However, after his sudden demise, Siddaramaiah wants his younger son to step into his shoes.
