Metro coach catches fire, one hurt

A Metro coach built by BEML was being transported to Delhi The mishap occurred near Electronics City A cab driver who was behind the container has sustained severe injuries

A Metro coach that was being transported from Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML), Bengaluru to Delhi caught fire in the wee hours of Sunday morning near Konappana Agrahara at Electronics City. However, no reason has been ascertained for the accident.

It is reported that the as the coach went up in flames, the driver of the container carrying the coach jumped from the vehicle saving him for the mining bruises. However, the accident was not so lucky for a cab driver who was trailing behind the container. The driver has sustained severe burn injuries.

Passersby alerted the fire personnel, who rushed to the spot and doused the fire. They have also rushed the cab driver to Victoria Hospital and his condition is said to be critical.
