
A woman complained to police that a man befriended her at Haveri railway station and took her to a lodge in the City and raped her. Cottonpet police arrested the man based on her complaint, reports Kannada Prabha.
Marikumar (38) a trader met a woman at Haveri railway station. She hails from Bengaluru and had gone to visit a relative at Haveri. They both had exchanged phone numbers and were regularly talking on phone. Around 15 days ago, he came to the City and called her to a lodge saying he needed to talk to her about something and when she went, he raped her. She said he had taken her to his house in Haveri also and raped her there also. She had lodged a complaint with Haveri rural police who transferred the complaint to Cottonpet Police Station, who arrested him. The man has been remanded to judicial custody.
