Synopsis

A mammoth statue of Maharshi valmiki will be installed at the Vidhana Soudha premises. The statue 30 feet high, weighing 22 tonne, costing Rs 1.50 crore has been carved in Mahabalipuram, TN. After one and half months the statue will be unveiled by the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. A letter has been written to the government to have peacocks at Vidhana Soudha and Raj Bhavan premises.  

A mammoth statue of Maharshi valmiki will be installed at the Vidhana Soudha premises shortly. The statue 30 feet high, weighing 22 tonne, costing Rs 1.50 crore has been carved in Mahabalipuram Tamil Nadu. On Thursday the statue will be delivered at Vidhana Soudha premises, said MLC V S Ugrappa, reported Kannada Prabha.

Speaking at a press meet on Wednesday V S Ugrappa said the statue of Maharshi Valmiki is rare in India.  It has been decided to install the statue at the garden in the West Entrance of Vidhana Soudha.  The Tamil Nadu sculptors will install it at the spot on Thursday and provide final touches. After one and half months the statue will be unveiled by the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said Ugrappa.

He also informed that a letter has been written to the government to have peacocks at Vidhana Soudha and Raj Bhavan premises.  In Delhi several government offices have peacocks in the premises and similarly the State can also have peacocks at Cubbon Park, Vidhana Soudha and Raj Bhavan, he said.
