Following the sexual assault allegation from a girl student from Maharani’s College in Bengaluru, the government has come to a conclusion that prevention is better than cure and is likely to transfer all male lecturers from the college.
An Associate Professor was alleged of sexually assaulting a student recently at Maharani’s College. The girl complained to the school authorities. But when there was no action taken, the girl students boycotted the classes. They wrote to the Education Department Commissioner, who directed the college authority to transfer the lecturer alleged of sexually harassing the girl student of the college.
But the Principal of Maharani’s College, Shanthakumari has not confirmed the news nor had said anything about transferring the male lecturers from the college.
However, sources said that the alleged professor has been transferred to Jevargi in Kalaburagi district.
But if the government decides to bring this policy, all government women’s colleges will have only women lecturers and not male officers or helpers will be allowed inside the college.
