Life term for a man for killing his wife on the pretext of teaching her car driving. The victim was a pharmaceutical inspector and he wanted her to stay at home He lured her saying that she could take the car instead of going by bus

A man has been sentenced to life imprisonment for killing his wife, by taking her to the outskirts in the pretext of teaching her driving.

Prashanth (46) of Kodalipur, Attibele taluk, is a farmer. He married Manjula, a pharmaceutical graduate in 2007. The couple have two children. She was employed as pharmaceutical inspector at a private firm. Prashanth often fought with her pressuring her to give up her job and be a stay-at-home wife. Manjula would always refute his demand and say she was educated not to sit at home or take up farm labour.

This led to a heated fight between them. In 2014 July, Prashanth told Manjula that instead of going by bus, why not drive to work and that he would teach her driving. A gullible Manjula went with him and Prashant took her in a car to the outskirts of Attibele near Bidaraguppe Anjaneya temple and stabbed her repeatedly killing her. Anekal Third session court justice M Devaraj sentenced Prashanth to life imprisonment, along with fine.
