
The BBMP has taken the initiative to help public regarding Khata registration and Khata transfer by coming to your door step to register, reported Kannada Prabha.
‘Khata Mela’ a new initiative by BBMP will help public to resolve all their Khata related problems. However, it is not a totally new initiative. In 2015 during the tenure of administration officer, a Khata Mela was organised to register Khata at apartments. A total of 242 flats were visited by the officers and a total of Rs 32.75 lakh fees was collected. The initiative stopped there and was not continued. Now, the BBMP has decided to revive it and register Khatas at door step. In the next one week, the zonal level Khata Mela will be organised said BBMP Tax and Finance Standing Committee.
The Khata Mela will be held at all zones, utilising the services of 63 assistant revenue officers in 8 zones. Apartment residents who have not registered Khata in the confusion of A and B Khatas can provide proof of ownership and obtain Khata certificates. The BBMP is also planning to appoint a judge to resolve legal problems regarding Khatas.
