Ex-boyfriend blackmailed married woman, arrested They were in a living in relationship and later separated. She got married 5 years ago and was happy with her husband. She called to threaten blackmail if she did not pay up. Police track his phone and arrest him

A married woman of 34 was being blackmailed by her ex-boyfriend that he would upload her nude photos and sex videos if she did not pay up was arrested by Hennur police.

Gowtham Srinivas, of BHEl Layout, was blackmailing his ex-girlfriend, who is married and living with her husband that he would upload her nude photos and their sex videos if she did not pay money. She lodged a complaint and the police tracked his phone calls and arrested him, reported Kannada Prabha.

The woman was in a living in relationship with Gowtham between 2006 and 2010. He had promised to marry her and they were intimate. He had taken her nude photos and videographed their sex.  Later on their relationship turned sour and she broke up with him.  She married a man arranged by her parents 5 years ago and they were happily living.

Some days ago Gowtham called her and demanded money and blackmailed her. At first she ignored him. He then called her husband and tried to extort money.  When her husband resisted he became abusive.  Finally the couple lodged a complaint with Hennur police.

The police tracked his phone calls and arrested him on chrages of sexula harassment (Section 354A), clicking indescent photos of woman (354C), criminal conspiracy (506) and using unparliamentary language and outraging the modesty of a woman (IPC 509).
