In the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, all other parties need a strong coalition to beat the BJP except in Karnataka, where Congress Party can get an absolute majority, by the strength of KPCC said MP Jairam Ramesh.
Speaking at a press meet after participating in the Dr B R Ambedkar International Conference, he said Maha Gathbandhan -the great coalition - is already in place in Bihar. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has also agreed for it. All other states will also debate the issue depending on the need. All secular forces have to unite in the 2019 elections, he said, reported Kannada Prabha.
However, in Karnataka, the Congress Party has given good governance in the past four years and won the hearts of public. The Party’s pro-people programs have strengthened the Party. Efficient Chief Minister and efficient KPCC president will lead the Party to victory once again. State in charge Venugopal is functioning efficiently. Hence Congress has all the confidence of winning again, he said.
He also commented that RSS and BJP have hijacked Mahatma Gandhi and are now hijacking Dr B R Ambedkar. He also said in his personal opinion the Padma awards are unnecessary and if he is made the Prime Minister even for a day he would cancel all such awards.
