
Former chief minister, JD(S) State President H D Kumaraswamy, who started a new trend of staying at villages, famously called Grama Vastavya, during the JD(S) - BJP coalition government has decided to go for it again.To install confidence in farmers, he will be travelling and staying at 50 villages in the north Karnataka, reported Kannada Prabha.
Speaking to media persons on Sunday, HDK said despite the State Government waiving farm loans the cases of farmers’ suicide is continuing. By staying at villages and interacting with farmers, he intends to give them confidence, he said. He had rented a house in Hubballi but for health reasons could not live there earlier. Now he is planning a massive farmers’ rally at Vijayapura. Preparations for that and also the staying at villages will be planned at Hubballi house, he said.
He is planning to travel across the north Karnataka, Hyderabad Karnataka and Mumbai Karnataka, campaign and strengthen JD(S) he said. He a is also planning to contest from either Dharawada, Belagavi or Bagalakote, as leaders and workers from that part are pressurising him. Final decision will be taken in due course. Apart from Revanna and Kumaraswamy no other person from their family will be contesting, he confirmed.
At Dharawada JD(S) organised a Kumar Patha 2018 with students and youth. In Bengaluru Chinthana - Manathana HDK had interacted with students and youth on social network. At Dharawada he had direct interaction with the youth at the JSS College Sannidhi Kalakshetra on Sunday. He fielded youth’s questions on Agriculture, Kannada medium, loan waiver, Kalasa Banduri and a host of other topics.
If JD(S) comes to power a differently-abled person will be appointed as MLC, HDK promised.
