Energy minister and his associates continue to be the target of Income Tax officials. The IT sleuths - on Wednesday morning - raided Vijay Mulgund, known to be in the close circle of the minister.
Mulgund is reportedly the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) secretary and was also the chairman of Cauvery Handloom when SM Krishna was the chief minister. His house located near Orion Mall in Rajajinagar was raided, and the officials are expected to carry out the raid till afternoon.
According to Suvarna News, Mulgund was also entrusted with responsibilities when Gujarat Congress leaders were flown to Bengaluru during the Rajya Sabha elections.
While Mulgund's role in hosting Gujarat Congress leaders was evident - last month - the IT officials had not targeted him. However, their delayed raid on Mulgund has raised many eyebrows.
