This shocking information was given by none other than the Home Minister G Parameshwara in the Assembly session. Minister Parameshwara spoke elaborately about how Nigerians were using their kids to sell ganja in schools and colleges.

Referring to a convent school in Jayanagar, the minister said that “Two Nigerian students offered chocolates to his friends. The taste was so good that the children repeatedly asked them to get chocolates. Soon it had become an addiction, and the two Nigerian students parents started a business of selling costly chocolates.

There are cases against Nigerians for selling drugs in at least 45 police stations in the state, said the Minister. Most of the cases are filed in Bengaluru. It is an internationally-run racket, he said.

Reacting to BJP’s V Somanna’s statement that the incidents of drug sale outside schools and colleges are on the rise, Minister said that many cases have been booked in the Bagalur, HSR Layout, KR Puram, Mico Layout, Kothanur, Peenya, JJ Nagar, Jayanagar, Kengeri, Madiwala, Tilak Nagar and other police station limits in this regard.

He also said that most accused in drug peddling are also found to be staying beyond their visa permits. Giving details, Minister Parameshwara also spoke about the African national Ifai Madu, whose body is lying in the Bowring Hospital, but nobody has come forward to claim it.

He requested the people to inform the police department if any foreign nationals are residing in the surroundings. So far 30 Nigerians have been arrested on charges of drug peddling, he said.
