Despite slogans, Union Minister Anantkumar Hegde did not speak at the Parivartan Yatra's closing event held in Bengaluru on February 4. Sources give an explanation for why Hegde was not allowed to talk.

It can be noted that though he is considered as the fierce speaker, BJP leader Anant Kumar Hegde's name was not added in the list of speakers at the Parivartan Yatra.

Speculations are rife that the BJP leadership is scared of allowing Anantkumar Hegde to talk.

According to sources, it is said that this was being discussed before the session began, outside the Vidhana Soudha, asking why was Anantkumar Hegde not allowed to speak. One of the leaders is said to have mentioned that if he were asked to talk, he would have made bigger news than PM Modi himself. It was also said that post Hegde's talk, PM would have had to give a clarification on the controversy he would allegedly create.

Are the BJP leaders trying to tell Hegde to take a back seat?
