Journalist-activist Gauri Lankesh's murder was conspired outside state, suspected Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy. 

Speaking at a press meet, Reddy said if the killing plan was hatched in City, the Intelligence would have come to know of it. However, it appears that the journalist's murder was planned outside the state and this is affecting the investigation, he observed. He defended the government's action of providing security to progressive thinkers, if they seek, reports Kannada Prabha

Meanwhile, Gauri Lankesh has been awarded the Kanaka Prashasti posthumous, along with nine others. Basavaraja Devaru Swami of Revana Siddeshwara mutt said the award will be presented at Dharwad on Nov 8 at the Kanaka Panchami Cultural Festival.

Interestingly, at the Mandala Sabha of RSS, all eminent personalities who passed away recently were paid condolences and one of them was Gauri Lankesh. She was a strong critic of the Right Wing. Yet the Sabha paid its condolences.
