The farm loan waiver is completely at the discretion of the respective state governments and the Centre has no intentions of waiving any loans said MP and State President of BJP BS Yeddyurappa. He was talking at a press meet in Ballari on Tuesday. Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra governments have waived farm loans at Farmers Co-operative banks in their states without seeking Central Government aid. The Central Government is already providing various facilities to farmers and it cannot waive loans, as clearly stated by Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, he said.
Moreover, the Central Government is in no mood to waive any loans and hence there is no question of bringing pressure on it in this regard stated Yeddyurappa, reported Kannada Prabha.
