Karnataka Election 2018: Fake voter Ids in RR Nagar, will elections be postponed?

Over 9,000 fake election ID cards were found from a flat in Rajarajeshwari Nagar Constituency in Bengaluru on Tuesday (May 8). Congress and BJP are blaming each other for being responsible for this.

BJP has demanded that assembly election to Rajarajeshwari Nagar be postponed. However, the Election Commission is yet to take any decision regarding this and will announce it in the evening.

The Assembly election in Karnataka is slated for May 12. Accordingly, May 9 is the last date for open campaigning.

BJP has blamed Congress candidate Muniratna and said that he is responsible for preparing thousands of fake election ID cards. However, Congress has lashed back at the BJP and said that the fake IDs were found in a house registered under Manjula Nanjamuri, who was a BJP corporator. It is said that currently her son Rakesh resides in the said flat, who is also a BJP member.

However, BJP has defended its stand by saying that Manjula was earlier with BJP, but not anymore.

As the blame game continues, now the ball is in the court of the Election Commission, which will decide if elections will be held in Rajarajeshwari Nagar or be postponed.
