Karnataka: Dearness Allowance raise for State government employees?

Synopsis

The Dearness Allowance (DA) for State Government employees may be hiked as a Dasara gift. An order to this effect is expected to be signed on October 3. The State government Employees Association had demanded a 3 per cent raise. Siddaramaiah heard their demand and sanctioned 1.5 per cent hike.

The Dearness Allowance (DA) for State government employees may be hiked as a Dasara gift and an order to this effect is expected to be signed on October 3, reported Kannada Prabha.

The government made all arrangements to announce a raise of 1.5 per cent DA for Dasara but for some technical reasons it could not be announced. The Chief Minister is expected to sign the order and announce it on Tuesday, after returning from Dasara.  

The State government was expected to raise DA on the heels of hike in DA by Central Government for its employees. Karnataka State Government Employees Association had even demanded a 3 per cent raise. Siddaramaiah heard their demand and sanctioned 1.5 per cent hike.
