In a rare occurrence, a murder accused argued his case himself at the court appealing to dismiss the death penalty accorded to him, reports Kannada Prabha.

Cyanide Mohan, accused of murdering 20 women in various districts in the State, has been sentenced to death in at least three cases by the 4th Magistrate court in Dakshina Kannada district. Mohan it is alleged that he would trap gullible women on the pretext of love, later rape them and would loot their ornaments before administering them with cyanide pills. The Registrar General, confirmed the death sentence in a Criminal Referred case. However Cyanide Mohan had filed three separate applications appealing to dismiss death sentences. The applications came up for hearing at the division bench on Monday headed by Justice Ravi Malimutt and Justice John Michael D'Cunha.

Cyanide Mohan presented his case himself and argued that the death sentence must be dismissed. The public prosecutor is yet to argue the case.
