CM assures Hindi will be kicked out of Namma Metro

Synopsis

The Chief Minister has assured that he will instruct BMRCL to use only Kannada and English. The Karnataka Rakshana Vedike members submitted an appeal to CM to stop Hindi in Metro. If Hindi is not removed from the boards within a week they will remove it themselves. Meeting convened to decide about blackening all Hindi boards in Metro on June 6.

Hindi is not imposed in both Tamil Nadu and Kerala metros, it is not necessary in Bengaluru too. Instead of three languages principle, the BMRCL will be instructed to use only Kannada and English assured the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. This was shared by T A Narayana Gowda, State president of the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike, who met the CM and submitted a appeal to stop Metro from using Hindi, reported Kannada Prabha.

The Chief Minister received the appeal by the Rakshana Vedike urging CM to take steps to stop Hindi in Metro.  Narayana Gowda said the Vedike will wait for another week to see if BMRCL will abide by CM’s directive and if not they would take action to remove Hindi from all Metro name boards.

A meeting has been called on Wednesday to decide about going ahead with the gherao of all Metro stations on July 6   to blacken the boards. Narayana Gowda said the Vedike office bearers will discuss and take a decision in this regard.
