Bomb scare at play home: Police term it hoax

Synopsis

Playhome teachers alerted the police after they found suspicious object  Bomb disposal squad rushed to the spot Holiday has been declared in school

The bomb scare that gripped the JP Nagar 6th phase early on Wednesday morning has turned out to be a hoax call now. Or at least this was a mischief, was how the police officials termed it later.

A suspicious object was found near a play home in JP Nagar on Wednesday. The teachers panicked when they saw some wires and a mobile phone threw near the object. They immediately alerted the police and declared holiday for the school. The bomb disposal squad that rushed to the spot have recovered the objects which reportedly include some gelatin sticks, pieces of scrap and a mobile phone. These materials have been sent to the laboratory for forensic examination, said Suvarna News. Besides, the police are also scanning the CCTV footage obtained from the school to ascertain any suspicious movement on the stretch.

The police believe this could have been done to instil fear in the minds of the people but the police are exploring all angles to ascertain the person behind it.
