Not one or two but as many as 20 students of Kendriya Vidyalaya have been found with cut marks on their wrists sending the blue whale game scare in the school located near the Cantonment.

According to The Times of India, the students of both Class 8 and 9 that included both boys and girls were found with the cut marks. When questioned, the students reportedly claimed that they sustained injuries when they fell from their bicycles. However, when the teachers persisted, the students admitted that they were attracted by the deadly game. But they had deliberately cut their wrists to impress their fellow classmates of having played the deadly game.

This has shocked the school faculty who have now arranged professional counsellors for the students and has also asked their parents to keep an eye on their wards.

Alarmed by the incident, the school authorities have kicked off awareness programme for all in the school where 3,000 students study. Besides, the district administration has directed the school headmasters, cluster and block resource centres to take measures to prevent children from falling victim to such games.

Recently, it was reported that Mysuru was one of the cities in the country where the number of searches for the blue whale game was alarmingly high. However, the report had also claimed that they might not be necessarily downloading the game in Mysuru. But this report was quick enough to alert the public instruction authorities who have now instructed the schools in their jurisdiction to keep vigil on the students.
