Though Kumaraswamy did not mention the name of Janardhan Reddy, he said that the multi-crore worth mining baron has been promised to make him come out clean, if he gives Rs 500 crore to the party for 2018 elections.

Surprisingly, he said that this direction has come from Modi himself, whose voice even has silenced the Enforcement Directorate, which had earlier seized crores worth property belonging to Janardhan Reddy, who was accused of carrying out the large scale of illegal mining.
The tainted mining baron Janardhana Reddy is accused in the multi-crore illegal mining scandal. But recently the High Court asked the Enforcement Directorate to return Rs 884 crore worth seized property to Reddy.

Following this High Court verdict, now former chief minister of Karnataka and JD(S) state president HD Kumaraswamy has made an accusation against the BJP that Reddy has been asked to pay the BJP Rs 500 crore.
