Bengaluru KV principal sexually abuse case, report to be filed soon

Synopsis

The departmental inquiry report on alleged sexual abuse by KV principal prepared by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sanghatan (KVS) is ready to be filed. The inquiry unveiled that this was not the first time when complaints against Kumar Thakur has been received by the KVS.

 

In the infamous case of alleged sexual harassment by the principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Hebbal, the departmental inquiry report prepared by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sanghatan (KVS) is ready to be filed. According to a report, minimum 25 students and teachers have recorded their statement in this matter.

 

This report will be submitted to concerned authorities as well as a copy of the same will be sent to Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (KCPCR), the New Indian Express quoted top sources of KVS as saying.

The inquiry also unveiled that this was not the first time when complaints against Kumar Thakur has been received by the KVS. However, no investigation was conducted, or action was taken in earlier complaints. Thakur was suspended was sent on extended leave after the allegations were made and later on, he was suspended. 

 

In the recent inquiry, Kumar Thakur has been found guilty, and authorities will have to take action, disclosed the sources.

 

Meanwhile, Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (KCPCR) is also planning to register a fresh FIR, and it is waiting for the completion of the police inquiry. 

 

“In the first FIR, he was not booked under Sections 11 and 12 of POCSO Act. We are waiting for the police investigation to be completed. Once that’s done, we will request a fresh FIR against the suspended principal,” the same report quoted chairperson of KCPCR, Kripa Alva, as saying. 

 

Upon completion of the police inquiry, KCPCR will insist on an immediate arrest of Kumar Thakur.
