The RTE confusion does not seen end so easily. Chaos in the allotment of seats is continuing. A child living in Bengaluru north has been allotted a seat at a school in south Bengaluru. The matter has gone to the Chief Minister now.
Prabhuswamy, a resident of Nagarabhavi 2nd stage in Bengaluru north had applied under RTE for a seat for his son Dikshit Surya at Kottigepalya ward. Under the online seat allotment process he has been allotted a seat at a school in Srigandha Kaval in Bengaluru South. Also he had asked for English medium school but the seat allotted is for Kannada medium.
The parents have approached the department but to no response. The child is not yet going to school because of the confusion. Prabhuswamy then approached the MLA of his constituency Priya Krishna, who wrote a letter to the Primary and Secondary Education Minister, requesting him to change the allotment. The Education Minister in turn wrote a letter to the Primary Education Director Basavaraju, who promptly ignored the letter. The parents then have approached the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. CM’s personal secretary B Heera Naik has written to Basavaraju and his response is awaited.
