While the Central Bureau of Investigation is still probing into the mysterious death of IAS officer Anurag Tewari, BJP leader and MP Shobha Karandlaje has levelled serious allegations on the Congress government of destroying the evidence.

"The state government has burnt down papers and documents of Anurag Tewari even before the CBI arrived here. Those documents could have proved crucial evidence for the investigators. But now they have been destroyed," Shobha Karandlaje told reporters in Vijayapura on Wednesday, reports a news channel.

Anurag Tewari, who was the Commissioner of Food and Civil Supplies, was found dead in Lucknow on May 17. Various theories are doing the rounds with regard to his death but the investigation is still on. The CBI which is investigating the case had recently registered the officer's the death as murder. The investigation is still on.
