Amit Shah takes up Mahadayi issue, talks to Goa CM

BJP national president Amit Shah has now decided to resolve the Mahadayi issue between Karnataka and Goa. He has instructed to Goa CM Parikkar to find a solution to the problem, in the wake of forthcoming elections in Karnataka. Parikkar on his part stated that any action will lead to difficult scene but assured to consult legal experts. The Goa’s legal experts’ team at Delhi is saying that coming to any conclusion is going to be very difficult.

BJP national president Amit Shah has now entered to resolve the Mahadayi issue between Karnataka and Goa. He has instructed to Goa CM Manohar Parrikar to find a solution to the problem. It is speculated that Amit Shah’s action is in the wake of forthcoming elections in Karnataka, reported Kannada Prabha.

The Mumbai Karnataka region BJP leaders had appealed to Amit Shah to ‘do something’ regarding the Mahadayi issue. Amit Shah had replied that when there was a Tribunal in place between the 2 states it was not possible for the Prime Minister to intervene.  But now, realising the situation Shah has spoken to Goa CM Parrikar if he can ‘do something’, it is said.

Goa CM has said, sources say, that as it is there is no majority for BJP and if any unnecessary complications occur due to water then independent candidates will withdraw support and hence BJP must tread carefully.

Amit Shah tried to persuade Parrikar saying elections are fast approaching and he must evolve some formula. Parrikar on his part stated that any action will lead to difficult scene but assured to consult legal experts. 

May be it is for this reason that State BJP leaders are saying there will be good news in 2 months with regard to Mahadayi. However, Parrikar has decided not to reveal any clues till something concrete is decided.  But the Goa’s legal experts’ team at Delhi is saying that coming to any conclusion is going to be very difficult.

However, the question is whether there is political willingness to resolve the Mahadayi issue. In any case, the Party that resolves the Mahadayi issue will get people’s vote should not be overlooked by all Parties.
