The Kadugodi police have arrested an ex-employee of Airtel for cutting cables, disconnecting the network for hundreds of customers. Apparently, he was frustrated as the company had suspended him from work - despite working for over 10 years - without any obvious reason, reports Kannada Prabha.
Manujanth, a resident of Whitefield, was an employee with Airtel for the past 10 years. Recently, his services were terminated by the company without giving any reason. Angry that his long service had come to an end for no substantial reason, he cut the company’s cables in over ten places causing huge disruption of network for hundreds of customers.
As complaints poured in from the customers, the company ordered a field check to find that the cables were cut. At Kadugodi also the cables were cut in two places. The company lodged a complaint with the Kadugodi police. The police registered the complaint and investigated. During the investigation, the police checked the CCTV cameras around the spot where the cables were cut. They found Manjunath breaking the network cables.
When confronted with the evidence, Manjunath confessed to the crime stating he did that as he was angry for being dismissed from work for no reason.
