3-day deadline to remove illegal flexes in Bengaluru

Synopsis

The BBMP Standing Committee for Tax and Finance president M Mahadev has given 3 days deadline to the Palike officers to remove the flexes. Mahadev held the first meeting on Friday after taking charge as the president of Standing Committee, with the officials of tax, finance and advertisement departments. If the officials fail to do so complaints would be lodged against them with the commissioner, he warned. He also instructed the officials to see that nobody escapes paying tax and effective tax collection is carried out to help develop the City.

The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Standing Committee for Tax and Finance president M Mahadev has given a 3-day deadline to the Palike officers to remove the flexes, reported Kannada Prabha.

Mahadev held the first meeting on Friday after taking charge as the president of Standing Committee, with the officials of tax, finance and advertisement departments. He questioned why the officials were allowing flexes to be put up haphazardly and demanded to know about the action they are taking to control the menace.  

He instructed them to remove all illegal banners from the City  in three days. He also directed the officials concerned to find out who put up them and take legal action and slap a fine on them. If the officials fail to do so, complaints would be lodged against them with the Commissioner, he warned.

He also instructed the officials to see that nobody escapes paying tax and effective tax collection is carried out to help develop the City. Since election year is fast approaching honest efforts must be made from now to present a good budget, he advised the officials.
